In the contemporary world, we get caught up so much with our everyday lifestyle and busy schedules that we human beings tend to forget sometimes that we have mind, body and soul. While the mind and body can be taken care off in different ways, the soul can only be rejuvenated only through the wilderness. While there are people out there trying their best to save the wild, it is at least imperative that all of us take a journey into the wild once in a while to soothe our senses.

Tents are the most basic necessity while you are backpacking into the wild. Hence, it is imperative that you choose your tent wisely. The 2 most important things to consider while buying a tent are the weight and cost. You don’t have to worry though as backpacking tents come in a variety of size. You can either go for a minimalist design or a huge one depending on your preference.
You need to carry light meals, not in the sense that it is low on calories, more likely with less weight and occupy less space. Foods like oatmeal, Berries, energy bars, instant noodles will be a good option. However, if you decide to carry a bigger backpack, you can take more items as you wish.
Ensure you are drinking more water than you usually drink because, as pleasant as backpacking is, you will be tired as well, bearing the load. The best you can do is carry enough water for a couple of days. Then you have to rely on nature’s help to see yourself through. If you are lucky, some areas will have wells from where you can fetch water. You can also get water from nearby lakes or streams.
